Tailor-made Scania serves Sweden’s national skiing team
Leaving nothing to chance has been Gunde Svan’s recipe for success, both as a skier and as a TV programme host. As General Manager of the Swedish national cross-country skiing team, this cross-country world champion and Olympic gold medallist is continuing in the same spirit. Scania planning vehicle production in Iraq
Scania has signed an agreement in principle with the government of Iraq on assembly of trucks and buses in that country. The contract includes an initial delivery of 500 vehicles, with production starting during the third quarter of 2009. Operations will take place under the aegis of Iraq’s State Company for Automotive Industry.

Scania and Sveaskog join in environmental effort
Scania is now running a training course in fuel-efficient driving for trucking companies that haul timber in parts of central Sweden for the Sveaskog forest product company. Results indicate that after training, the drivers can reduce their fuel consumption by 9 percent. For these truckers alone, this would represent 8,000 tonnes less carbon dioxide emissions each year.
